Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Mathematical methods and structures have long served as the backbone of theoretical physics, providing reliable and foundational results across virtually all areas of modern research, from quantum field theory and integrable systems to geometry, topology, and the very foundations of spacetime. Recent advances in this field are not only refining our mathematical toolkit but also paving new pathways to address the central questions of 21st century physics, including the nature of dark energy, the challenges of quantum gravity, non-perturbative phenomena, and the crucial interplay between symmetry and physical law.

This Special Issue, ‘Contemporary Topics in Mathematical Physics’, invites high-quality contributions on (but not limited to) the following topics: 

  1. Exactly solvable models and integrable systems;
  2. Noncommutative geometry, deformation quantization, and spectral methods;
  3. Topological field theories, gauge theories, and anomalies;
  4. Algebraic and geometrical methods in relativity and cosmology;
  5. Mathematical relativity;
  6. Numerical and analytical approaches to nonlinear PDEs in physics.

We welcome both original research articles and comprehensive review papers that push the boundaries of mathematical rigor and physical insight. By bringing together methods from pure mathematics to computational physics, this Special Issue aims to become a key reference for researchers at the intersection of mathematics and theoretical physics.

Manuscript Submission Information

Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 250 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for assessment.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-anonymized peer-review process. Axioms is an international peer-reviewed open access monthly journal published by MDPI.
