Dear Colleagues
As nations around the world struggle to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, reducing demand for primary energy has great potential for reducing emissions quickly and at low cost. There are ample opportunities to simultaneously reduce energy consumption and save money in the industrial, commercial, household, and transportation sectors of the economy, and much greater reductions are possible at low cost. Public policies to reduce energy consumption must account for complex decision processes by individuals and firms that involve technology, economics, individual psychology, and social interactions. Therefore we would like to call for papers reporting research on various aspects of energy saving and policy as a means to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
Papers are selected by a rigorous peer review procedure with the aim of rapid and wide dissemination of research results, development and application.
Original research papers or reviews are invited in the following and related areas:
- Reducing energy consumption by individuals and households
- Reducing energy consumption by industrial and commercial firms
- Assessing the effectiveness of policies promoting energy conservation and efficiency
- Obstacles to adopting energy efficiency and conservation measures
- Understanding decisions by individuals and firms regarding energy use
- Rebound effect on energy demand
- Price elasticity of energy demand with applications to energy conservation
- Technology standards and energy demand
- Other related research
