This English version has been prepared for IJOM at the suggestion of Mr. R. H. Barrett, 1978, who taught us much about myofunctional therapy (MFT). In view of space limitation, some historical matter about MFT and the etiological consideration of tongue habits, etc., are purposely omitted.
