1. Introduction

1.1. Overview

The IX International Congress “Engineering, Environment and Materials in Process Industry”—EEM2025 took place in Ethno Village Stanišići, Bijeljina, Republic of Srpska, Bosnia and Herzegovina, from 2 to 4 April 2025. The EEM2025 Congress provides a platform for scientists, technologists, and professionals to share recent advancements and research findings across various fields, including chemical technology and engineering, food technology and engineering, environmental engineering, materials science, and renewable energy and sustainable development. The event encourages participation from academia, industry, and public administration, representing a great opportunity to connect these sectors. We can conclude that EEM2025 was a highly successful and impactful event. It reinforced the importance of collaboration, knowledge exchange, and the ongoing advancement of research, while setting a benchmark for the quality of the presented science—a standard we will strive to maintain and improve upon in the upcoming 10th anniversary edition, scheduled for 2027.

1.2. Organizers

The EEM2025 Congress is organized by University of East Sarajevo, Faculty of Technology Zvornik, in co-organization with Institute “Dr. Josif Pančić”; University of Banja Luka, Faculty of Technology; Faculty of Technology and Metallurgy, University of Belgrade; Josip Juraj Strossmayer University of Osijek, Faculty of Food Technology Osijek; University of Belgrade, Institute of Physics; University of Novi Sad, Faculty of Technology; and Union of Engineers and Technicians of Serbia. The Congress is endorsed by ISEKI Food Association, under the auspices of the Academy of Sciences and Arts of the Republic of Srpska and the Government of the Republic of Srpska.

The EEM2025 Congress is open to anybody who wants to present recent and original results on any of the following topics:
