The 8th Mechanical Engineering, Science and Technology (MEST) Conference was held at the Universiti Muhammadiyah Malaysia, Bangunan Wisma MAIPs, Blok S1, Kompleks Desa Siswa, Uniciti Alam, 02100 Padang Besar, Perlis, Malaysia on 11–12 December 2024. The conference was conducted with the 10th International Summit on Science, Technology, and Humanity (ISETH 2024) in Surakarta, Indonesia. The conferences are a testament to our commitment to fostering innovation, collaboration, and excellence in mechanical engineering, science, and technology.
The theme for MEST 2024, “Creating Limitless Opportunities, Shaping Future Together,” reflects our collective aspiration to push the boundaries of knowledge and technology and to create a future that is both sustainable and prosperous. This conference brings together industry professionals, experts, academics, and scholars from around the globe to share their insights, research, and experiences. Through such collaborative efforts, we can address the most pressing challenges of our time and drive progress in our respective fields.
MEST 2024 accepted 102 papers after the peer review process. The authors and co-authors represent scholars from several countries, including Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, the United Kingdom, Canada, South Africa, and Kenya. This international participation underscores the global significance of our conference and the importance of cross-border collaboration in advancing science and technology.
Two distinguished keynote speakers, Prof. Dr. Yasir Maqbool Shariff from Taibah University, Saudi Arabia, and Prof. Ts. Dr. Nangkula Utaberta from UCSI University, Malaysia, have shared invaluable contributions with their presence and highlighted the importance of international collaboration and the exchange of ideas in advancing our understanding and capabilities.
MEST 2024 was conducted in a hybrid format, allowing offline and online participation. The presentations and participation are an opportunity to gain experience from one another, to inspire and be inspired, and to forge new partnerships that will shape the future of mechanical engineering, science, and technology.
In closing, I would like to thank the organizing committee and reviewers, led by Prof. Dr. Noor Hanita Abdul Majid of ItSAT UMAM and Prof Dr. Agus Dwi Anggono from Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta Indonesia, the track directors, our sponsors, and all participants for their dedication and hard work in making this conference a success.
