Proposal of a Protocol for Adjusting the Value of the SN-GoGn Angle in Steiner Cephalometry
Abstract
:1. Introduction
2. Materials and Methods
2.1. Study Type and Design
2.2. Study Population
2.3. Ethical Considerations
2.4. Instruments and Measures
- -
- The patient was positioned in a cephalostat with the focal point-sensor, focal point- subject and sensor-subject distance fixed.
- -
- Patient in a standing position, with the back straight, in a stable position, relaxed and without moving, looking towards the horizon at eye level.
- -
- Teeth in occlusion with lips at rest.
- -
- The Frankfort plane of the patient: horizontal and parallel to the floor.
- -
- The external auditory canals aligned at the same height.
- -
- The SN-GoGn angle of Steiner’s cephalometry.
- -
- Ricketts’ Facial Axis angle, the angle formed by the basocranial plane (Basion—Nasion) with the facial axis plane (Pterygoid—Gnation).
- -
- Jarabak modified Björk cephalometric facial height ratio value (relationship between posterior facial height and anterior facial height).
- -
- McNamara’s vertical dimension measure. This last variable allowed the sample to be divided into mixed dentition, male permanent dentition, and female permanent dentition.
