Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

The paper is written in a coherent manner. This position presents the subject matter numerical modelling of the bond strength in overmoulded thermoplastic composites. The paper requires several corrections to be considered for publication. After addressing the recommendations below, the paper will be recommended for publication:

  1. Due to the use of numerical modelling, the keywords should include "numerical modelling". Please complete this.
  2. The literature review is done quite thoroughly, but because of the use of numerical modeling technique, I absolutely recommend that the literature be expanded to include significant references:

I recommend after the sentence "In addition to the studies mentioned above, this paper presents a numerical approach that provides the possibility of computing the local, as well as global bond strength, by using material and simulation data." include references (DOI): 10.3390/ma13194339, 10.1016/j.cscm.2021.e00567, 10.1016/j.tws.2020.106627, 10.1016/j.cemconcomp.2021.104023

  3. Figure 4 should have references to the literature, as some figures are certainly copied. Please correct this.
  4. Conclusions should have a clear relation to the quantitative assessment. Please correct this as a matter of necessity.
  5. Please demonstrate, the novelty of the present work in relation to other similar works.

Reviewer 2 Report

The paper proposes a study on the numerical modelling of the bond strength in overmoulded thermoplastic composites. The paper is well structured, it was a pleasure to read the content. The paper is clear and concise and it addresses an interesting and relevant problem. The English is acceptable, the figures and tables are well organized. Finally, I suggest a minor revision. In what follows, I list some comments and suggestions that can be addressed by the authors while finalizing the manuscript in a minor revision process.
Figure 1: Please add the measurement units
Table 1: The values in Table 1 are not well aligned.
Figura 4: Units of measurement are usually placed in square or round brackets.
Figure 5 Bonding zone is hard to read.
Figures 9, 10, 12, 13, 14,  A1, A2: Authors are invited to edit the line type (without the dots) in order to improve the readability of the manuscript.
