Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

This paper addresses an important topic which is cybersecurity awareness and user habit. It adds to the body of knowledge in this area.

Please add your research questions to the paper.

Please list study limitations.

The table font sizes are consistent, some are very  large font (Table 6 and 7) while most have small fonts.

Reviewer 2 Report

The authors investigate and evaluate the level of cybersecurity awareness and user compliance among undergraduate students at Majmaah University using a scientific questionnaire based on several safety factors for the use of the Internet. The authors use a quantitative research methodology and conduct different statistical tests, such as ANOVA, Kaiser–Meyer–Olkin (KMO), and Bartlett’s tests, to evaluate and analyze the hypotheses.

The paper is well written and the results can bring advancements in cybersecurity awareness for the students in Saudi Arabia.

The population studied demonstrates that the results and conclusions are useless for practical application outside Saudi Arabia.

Reviewer 3 Report

The topic of cybersecurity awareness among students is rather interesting and is related to the cognitive computing topic. Authors present their research done at their university. Despite some positive moments there are some points that should be corrected before considering the manuscript for publication:

  • Please explain, if the list of social networks limited or open? Why there is no TikTok which is now the most popular among young people and how low popularity of Facebook could be explained? Is it something country-specific?
  • Please describe, if there are any courses on IT/cybersecurity that are included in the colleges that participated in the survey. Is there any difference in awareness between IT and non-IT students?
  • Information on age and sex was collected, but not included in the analysis, i.e. authors do not try to evaluate these factors on the awareness level, i.e. correlation. This should be added. Otherwise collection of such data is meaningless.
  • Comparison of results with surveys in other countries should be added in the results section. I understand, that questions may differ, but overall level of awareness can still be compared.
  • Recommendations are made for all Saudi universities, while students of just one university have participated in the survey, so generalizing conclusions is not recommended.

Round 2

Reviewer 2 Report

The authors addressed all the issues I pointed out in the paper.

Author Response

Thank you for your time and feedback. We really appreciate.

Reviewer 3 Report

I can accept majority of improvements/comments, provided by the authors. Still I would insist on comparing the results with other countries, while leaving analysis of sex and age influence for the future research. I don't ask you to perform the experiments in other countries, but just to compare your results with other researcher results at least on a high level in the discussion session.
