Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

p2 Introduction - language is mentioned but what is the role of Spanish and other languages (perhaps English) in the relationship between educational training and productivity here and outside Spain? See Capstick's 'Language and Migration' (2020) published by Routledge for discussion of this.

p9 In the fourth phase of the data analysis, what categories or codes were used to carry out statistical analysis, how were these selected and was there any analysis of migration narratives/discourses about migration from participants?

  1. What is the main question addressed by the research?  'Why do students at a university in Extremadura Spain intend to leave Spain to work after graduating? '   Is it relevant and interesting?# Yes within the parameters of this narrow context   2. How original is the topic?  It is original in terms of setting but less not original in terms of method or theory.   What does it add to the subject area compared with other published material? It adds to the literature on employability and internationalisation of Spanish HE   3. Is the paper well written? Is the text clear and easy to read? It is well written and it is easy to read.   4. Are the conclusions consistent with the evidence and arguments presented?  Yes but it would be good to see any open ended questions analysed to add some nuance to the statistical analysis (as I commented in my comments)   Do they address the main question posed?   Yes but only through stats.
