All my previous comments were addressed in the new version of the paper, consequently I recommend publications. Just double check this:

ELIZA instead of ELISA

PNRSV и ApMV, Russian?

Sánchez-Navarro with a co-author, replace for Sánchez-Navarro and Pallás. Give the same credit and respect to both authors. Same for other references.

Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

Dear Authors,

Despite your efforts to write this interesting review entitled "Viral Infection Control in the Essential-Oil-Bearing Rose Nursery: Collection Maintenance and Monitoring" which are very appreciated still there are several modifications required to the manuscript.

These are all marked on the paper itself. Just to mention a few: try to rewrite the text in the tables and also follow all reccomendations regading other improvements for the manuscript.

Best Regards.

Manuscript Horticulturae-1768655 summarizes important information about roses viruses and control strategies. From my point of view, the title is confusing. According to the title, the manuscript is about management of viral diseases, however, half of the paper focuses on describing viral agents. There are previous reviews about viruses in rose, my recommendation for this paper is to focus on management (Sections 4 to 6), which will provide useful information for growers.

Finally, some additional comments:

·       Remove genus from the virus species names. It should be Apple mosaic virus, not Apple mosaic ilarvirus. Take a look to the ICTV website.

·       Figure 2. Add names/description of the key components of the cells.

·       “Measures to propagate essential oil roses implemented by the RIAC include among others systematic precautions to prevent the spread of pests and diseases”. However, you do not provide further details, what are you doing exactly?
