Comments and Suggestions for AuthorsThis review article on the synthesis, structure and application progress of bismuth vanadate (BiVO4) is of high overall quality, rich in information and well organized. However, there are still some issues that need to be revised.
- The authors should unify “antimicrobial activity” into “antibacterial activity”. ​​ The authors should unify “photo-electrochemical (PEC) sensor” into “photoelectrochemical (PEC) sensor” or “PEC sensor”.
- The authors should add a table to summarize the performance and highlights of different literatures.
- The authors should highlight the relevance of synthesis-morphology-performance-application in the conclusion or discussion.

1. A table comparing the catalytic activity of other catalysts using solar radiation with the BiVO4 catalyst could be added.
2. A comparison should be made in the text regarding the catalytic activity of other materials and BiVO4, regarding their antibacterial performance in the food industry, particularly TiO2, Nb2O5, and ZnO.
3. More details on the catalysts' performance should be provided.
4. What are the advantages and disadvantages of using BiVO4? A critical analysis should be included in the conclusion.
