Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

In this paper, authors study a new mathematical model. It is called graph-based dynamic modeling of palm oil refining process. They provide the products and related problems. The corresponding effectiveness and simplicity of the model are introduced as well. Here are some comments.

(1) The introduction is not clear and not motivated. Authors should give some details and some examples. So it would be attractive.

(2)Authors should give some explanation on the tables. In particular, the connection is not clear.

(3) The process is interesting.

(4) Give an example on Def3.

(5) Line 253, add some notations.

(6) Give an example to introduce the steps.

The overall paper is good, but it needs additional explanations. So I give it a minor revision.

Reviewer 2 Report

I would like to first thank the authors of the manuscript in-hand for their effort in writing this article. Nevertheless, I strongly advise them to revise their manuscript structure and look into similar articles that are concerned in this field. This is because the in-hand manuscript has not got the basic components required in any published article. I have added some additional notes below for the authors kind attention.

- Please make sure that you revise your manuscript in terms of English grammar.

Abstract: Please elaborate more on the content presented in the paper for the reader. For example, when you say that ‘The system parameters are identified in detail in the beginning of the paper’ you need to specify all or some of these parameters. The same goes with when you mention about the simulation (i.e., what type of simulation?) and so on with the rest of your abstract.

Keywords: Please use at least five keywords and make sure to arrange them alphabetically.

Introduction: In your introduction you start by saying that the refining of palm oil is done to improve the palm oil production, after which you show figure 1 as a demonstration of the improvement in the quality of the palm oil. First, if you had taken this figure from another document then you need to cite the source, and second I would prefer that you provide an image that shows the process more clearly because the current two images cannot be directly linked together by the reader. I recommend that you modify Figure 1 or better to remove it.

In line 28, after the word physical, you need to add a reference.

In lines 28 – 36, both chemical and physical refining approaches need to be explained in more details so that the reader can understand how they are performed.

In line 44, please replace ‘Crude Palm Oil (CPO)’ with ‘crude palm oil (CPO)’ (i.e., use lower case words).

In line 50, please place the cited reference after the researcher’s name (i.e., Morad et al. [3]).

Rest of the manuscript: I could not see any separation between the main sections that any article should have (i.e., introduction with problem statement, methodology, and results)

Suggest presenting more graphical data to validate the proposed model.

Reviewer 2 Report

The authors have made the required changes and took into account the reviewer comments. I recommend its acceptance after the respected editor final approval.

All the best.
