Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

In this work, the adsorption equilibrium of methane on AC and 3D-GS was analyzed. The results are useful. However, several limitations need to be overcome.

1.They should improve introduction and at the last paragraph, superiority of the paper should be defined.

2.Results and discussion section was short and weak, and the data must be discussion in more detail.

3.Numbers of references were not sufficient. 50% of presence must be provided.

4.The XRD pattern of carbon material should be needed.

5.The BET data of carbon material should be added.

It is OK!

Reviewer 2 Report

The authors reported experimental studies of methane adsorption on activated car-

bon and 3D graphene materials. This work is interesting to the general readership. This manuscript needs revision before considering for publications. Some comments and recommendations are:

1.      The XRD patterns of the samples should be provided and analyzed.

2.      The advanced carbon-based nanomaterials with superior adsorption and/or catalysis function should be introduced to strengthen the research, such as Advanced Fiber Materials 2022, 4, 1620–1631; J. Mater. Sci. Technol., 2023, 164, 59-67; Adv. Fiber Mater., 2022, 4, 604-630;

3.      The highly porous structure of nanomaterials shows great advantages in adsorption of molecules, the work Adv. Fiber Mater., 2023, 5, 994-1007 can be utilized to enrich the analysis.

4.      How about the reusability of the material?

5.      How about the effect of temperature on the adsorption behavior?

Reviewer 3 Report

The text provided presents a comprehensive study of the adsorption behavior of methane on two different carbon materials, activated carbon (AC) and 3D graphene materials (3D-GS), for potential application in adsorbed natural gas (ANG) storage. While the study demonstrates a commendable effort to explore the potential of these materials, there are several aspects that require critical evaluation.

·         The text lacks adequate (sufficient) discussion of the potential limitations and uncertainties associated with the study.

·         Authors selected single model of the three presented, the Thoth Equation, based on mean deviation percent. On the statistical side it is correct choice but a more critical assessment of the strengths and weaknesses of the model would be beneficial.

·         The absence of a thorough discussion of the limitations and uncertainties of the study raises concerns about the robustness of the results. The text would be more reliable and generalizable if potential experimental and modeling limitations or assumptions were addressed in the context of the results.

While the study addresses an important topic with valuable insights, it would greatly benefit from improvement by addressing above limitations in more detail.

Please check the manuscript, see for example in Abstract is should be "The results show" not "shows".
