Round 1

Comments and Suggestions for AuthorsComments
In this paper, the author employs theoretical analysis and numerical simulation to investigate the development patterns and fractal dimension characteristics of separation cracks in overlying bedrock during circular karst cave mining. Additionally, the paper proposes a quantitative evaluation method for water inrush in karst areas based on cloud model and enhanced fusion weighting. Furthermore, the paper analyzes the water damage on the separation layer in the South China coalfield, which is characterized by karst landforms. The research is based on the engineering scene, and the conclusion drawn is accurate. However, there are a few areas that require improvement.
(1) A large number of formulas are used in the analysis process, and attention should be paid to the academic achievements of scholars. Therefore, it is suggested that when quoting their formulas, corresponding references should be added.
(2) In section 4.2, there is an error in the title, so it is suggested to modify it after inspection.
(3) In Figure 6, the clarity of the picture is poor. Is it because of the conversion to PDF or something? Please pay attention to the quality of pictures in the paper.
(4) In section 4.2, why not put (1) and (3) together?
(5) In the fifth section, the title is field experiment verification, but the rock mechanics test is only indoor test, not field test. It is suggested to sort out the ideas in this section.
(6) It is suggested to carefully check and modify the typesetting of references.
(7) The English language of the paper should be largely improved as fragmented English error is seen in many places. Please proofread the revised paper by a native English speaker.

Comments and Suggestions for AuthorsAll studies, research, methods and techniques for predicting these phenomena are very important and have a strong preventive character.
These are some arguments regarding the importance, opportunity and value of the analyzed work.
Looking at the analyzed article, the following aspects can be highlighted:
- The introduction is well-proportioned and briefly presents the relevant research in the field addressed;
- Engineering background presents the interesting situation of the geography and geology of the analyzed area;
- The dynamic evolution of bed separation in a karst cave landform, approaches in an interesting and original way through mathematical and rock mechanics tools, the phenomenon addressed;
- Chapter 4, Evolution and fractal characteristics of overburden fracture under a circular cave, presents a mathematical modeling of the area under study and interestingly establishes the fracturing model of the roof of the coal layer, fracturing that favors water infiltration;
- In chapter 5, Field test verification, rock mechanics tests are presented on samples taken from the roof of the coal seam, an estimate of the level of infiltration as well as a method of practical verification of infiltrated water flows;
- Chapter 6 presents the evaluation method of water inrush in the bed separation based on the cloud model and improved fusion weighting, a weighted evaluation method of water infiltration in the roof of the coal layer;
- The conclusions are comprehensive and capture synthetically the information presented in the paper;
- The bibliography is rich and reflects good knowledge of the field presented.

Comments and Suggestions for AuthorsThe present work tries to explain the formation mechanism and the evaluation of the introduction of water into coal seams in karst areas, in order to prevent damage. Applied to a coal mine north of Guizhou, China, The data used are relative to the formation mechanism, development location, mechanical condition of local karst caves, fracture evolution and fractal rules. Different conclusions are obtained in the simulation about the location of tensile cracks and a high risk of water intrusion. It is a theoretical study that tries to justify the experimental results.
The work is difficult to follow due to the large number of mathematical equations presented, for this reason it is recommended to simplify the equations, some of which are obvious.
It must be corrected:
Line 91: Indicate that it is T1.
Line 92: Indicate what p2c is.
Line 94: how many numbers are there? What is the difference between them?. All of the above is solved by introducing a diagram of the mine layers and a geological description that is unknown.
Delete equations: there are too many of them
Line 243: 4.2. Evolution 4.2…?

Comments and Suggestions for AuthorsDear authors,
The work you presented is quite deep and meaningful. There are no questions about the research itself.
But to publish an article in such a respected journal, it is necessary to show the state of the issue in this area. And, of course, since the publication claims to be international, it is absolutely necessary to make a broad overview of similar studies in the world. You have a fairly extensive review of Chinese works. And there are absolutely no references to similar works in the rest of the world. And such work is widely carried out. As an example, I can recommend Ignacio Menéndez-Pidal de Navascués from Spain, Marianna Cangemi, Paolo Madonia and Rocco Favara from Italy, Olena Ivanik from Ukraine. These scientists study groundwater in detail. If we talk about violations of coal seams and the dangers associated with it, then Andrian Batugin, Daniil Krasnoshtanov, Yuriy Ignatov from Russia are dealing with these problems. Similar studies are being conducted in Poland and Germany. I consider it absolutely necessary to supplement the literature review. And this will only improve the quality of your work.
I also want to pay attention to the drawings. The information in Figures 1, 2, 5, 6, 7, 9, 10 and 13 is completely unreadable. It is necessary to either enlarge these figures or simplify them. If possible.
Otherwise, I wish you continued success in your research.
