Comments and Suggestions for Authors

The purpose of this study was to determine PE teachers’ physical literacy (PL), their understanding of the concept of PL and the application of its components in PE classes. A research questionnaire survey of 81 PE teachers used to determine their physical literacy. Later, observations were conducted to assess which components of PL teachers use during PE classes. Finally, a group interview was conducted to determine the opinions of PE teachers on the components of PL and its application.

The results indicated that significantly higher PL score displayed teachers with a normal BMI and teaching higher grades students. scored higher PL score than those with BMI that was too high. Moreover, correlation analysis indicated that as BMI decreased, the PL score increased. Only a few aspects of PL are developed during PE classes—competence and motivation.

I would like to thank authors for this interesting study, I believe that this study has a merit for this journal. The study has a very good introduction and method sections. Authors both used qualitative and quantitative measurements and this is one of the strengths of the study. Moreover, this study has a very good literature review. However, I have several questions. First, this study has a small sample size for a survey, did authors calculate a power analysis for statistical purpose?

Second, authors reported reliability and validity of test and measurements for quantitative part but they did not report validity and reliability for qualitative part. Also, I wonder if the found differences in terms of gender.

Besides, authors measured the relationship with PL and BMI. I would like figure out that if they found a relative information about this in the literature. Finally this study needs a strong conclusion section with practical applications for the future studies. I look forward to seeing edited version of this interesting and valuable manuscript. Thank you.
