The journal retracted the article titled “Coating Sand with New Hydrophobic and Superhydrophobic Silica/Paraffin Wax Nanocapsules for Desert Water Storage and Transportation” [1], cited above.
Following publication, concerns were brought to the attention of the Editorial Office regarding the integrity and accuracy of the data presented in the published paper [1].
In accordance with the journal’s standard procedures, the Editorial Office and Editorial Board conducted an investigation that identified indications of inappropriate editing and inconsistencies within the data presented in Figures 1 and 4–7. Following further discussions with the authors, the Editorial Board was unable to verify the integrity of the figures mentioned based on the explanations and raw material provided. Consequently, the Editorial Board has lost confidence in the reliability of the overall findings and has decided to retract this publication [1], in accordance with MDPI’s retraction policy.
This retraction was approved by the Editor-in-Chief of the journal Coatings.
The authors have been informed of this retraction, but they did not provide any comments on this decision.
