Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

The working mode of powder spraying plasma generator is studied in this paper, which is in line with the scope of the journal. However, in order to further improve the quality of the paper, the following suggestions should be considered:

1) The title has no features, please consider revising it;

2) The abstract is too long and the focus is not prominent;

3) The first section needs to be rewritten, and the literature review is insufficient. In addition, the innovation of the paper is not reflected;

4) What is the significance of the second section? Are they properly deleted? This problem is clarified through literature quotation.

5) "3. Results" should be changed to "4. Results";

6) The fourth section should be the results and analysis;

7) Lack of discussion section;

8) The title of the paper has been wrongly sorted twice. Please carefully check other questions;

9) The definition of Figure 9 is too poor, please check other Figures;

10) The relevant classical literature is cited too little.

Reviewer 2 Report

I have read the manuscript and think that this is an exciting work and can be considered for publications but require some revisions before reviewing further, Materials devices Research is an exciting field which started from semiconductor Silicon and then to other new materials uniery, binary, ternary and few organics upcomings , A note on this story can be found in a recently published papers. These reference additions will make the literature review better.

and refrence therein Nunzi et al
2 Include some more experimental techniques like Add more details about the technique that can be used for the synthesis of such systems .
3) Improve the conclusion to deliver more qualitative information. 4) References need to be checked for correctness and should be as per this press style. or other devices ?
4) Efficiency ? Please cite and make a full table
5) project novelty strongly in experiment and data.
If the author can address the above issues in the manuscript then it can be reconsidered for the press, in my opinion

1.     These reference additions will make the literature review better.

Recent advances in bulk-heterojunction solar cells: A Review DOI: 10.1051/epjap/2022220113 and refrence therein Nunzi et al

The literature review has been extended and a reference has been added

2.     Include some more experimental techniques like Add more details about the technique that can be used for the synthesis of such systems .

Additional information about CVD, PVD and RPS methods for TiN coatings has been added in the "Introduction" section. (row 38-45, 57-64)

3.     Improve the conclusion to deliver more qualitative information.

The conclusions have been remade.

4.     References need to be checked for correctness and should be as per this press style. or other devices

References are checked for correctness and are executed according to the requirement of the journal

5.     Efficiency ? Please cite and make a full table

Information on the effectiveness of using an annular powder insertion assembly in the plasma torch design, which contributes to more efficient particle heating and increased maximum machining capacity compared to single point powder insertion, has been added to the article test. Corresponding reference to the source has been added. (row 113-119)

6.     Project novelty strongly in experiment and data.

The novelty of the work consists in the use of ready-made TiN powder for obtaining coatings by the APS method (in an air atmosphere). And also to reduce the oxidation of TiN in the process of APS the method of creating a nitrogen environment at the outlet of the nozzle - anode was used. X-ray diffractometry data showed good results. The main phase of the coatings is TiN and weak peaks of TiO2 phase were detected.

Reviewer 3 Report

The manuscript should be read carefully, here and there some minor spell check are required and some phrases could be more clearly formulated, some examples:

Row 31 "in-creasing"

Row 37 please rephrase

Row 124 please rephrase "as the powder was chosen..."

Row 149 "ball-and-disk". The expression ball-on-disk is more common. Although, I suppose the principle of the tribometer is "pin-in-disk" equipped with a ball as counterpiece. As far as I know the TRB from Anton Paar is a pin-on-disk type. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

The most common methods for obtaining TiN coatings are CVD and PVD methods. Right after the deposition of TiC films (around 1960), TiN followed very shortly. It should be added to the introduction with any preferred references - the list is very generous.

 What is the reason for choosing TiN for this study, since TiN coatings are one of the most researched and published type of coatings for a long time?

Figure 9 - scratch testing results.

The micrographs are not visible. As a reader I would be interested in clear images of the moments recorded as Lc2 and Lc3 critical loads. I find them much more important than the graphs. The graphs can be useful only as long as clear correlation between the coatings degradation and the chart evolution can be observed.

Figure 10 and the discussion upon it:

The penetration depth is not mentioned. The error bars are missing. The number of indentation performed on each sample should be mentioned.

We agree with the Reviewer. Tribological tests were performed according to the "ball-on-disk" scheme. The mistake has been corrected in the text of the article.

5.     The most common methods for obtaining TiN coatings are CVD and PVD methods. Right after the deposition of TiC films (around 1960), TiN followed very shortly. It should be added to the introduction with any preferred references - the list is very generous.

The text of the article was corrected accordingly. Row 39

6.   What is the reason for choosing TiN for this study, since TiN coatings are one of the most researched and published type of coatings for a long time?

The TiN has been selected justified by the development of the APS technology with the use of ready-made nitride powders. Literature analysis shows that TiN coating is obtained by reactive plasma deposition of pure Ti powder in a nitrogen atmosphere.

In this work, TiN powder was used as the initial powder for spraying and a method of creating a nitrogen environment at the outlet of the nozzle, the anode, was used to reduce the oxidation process. X-ray diffractometry data showed good results. The main phase of the coatings is TiN and weak peaks of the TiO2 phase were detected.

7.        Figure 9 - scratch testing results.The micrographs are not visible. As a reader I would be interested in clear images of the moments recorded as Lc2 and Lc3 critical loads. The size of Figure 9 is increased corresponding to the critical loads.

8.        Figure 10 and the discussion upon it:The penetration depth is not mentioned. The error bars are missing. The number of indentation performed on each sample should be mentioned.

Corresponding changes were made in the text of the article.

"20 diamond indenter impressions were placed on each sample, with an indenter penetration depth of 150 nm." Row 255
