Comments and Suggestions for Authors

I found the presented research interesting. My comments are minimal and concern proposals to make the work more visual for understanding.

First of all, in the map of the region, instead of the abbreviation ROMS, all geographical names used in the text should be indicated.

In addition, to understand the analyzed process, it is necessary to show a picture of water circulation, for example, averaged in a 200-meter layer.

When presenting the method, the physical meaning of the positive or negative sign of each of the analyzed terms should be explained.

Please pay attention to the information about the model used. What do the stretching parameters θ s , θ b and h c mean in the text (lines 130-131)? Also, what does omega ω = 0 , 1, 2 mean in lines 166-167?

Please clarify how you assess the significance or insignificance of seasonal changes in all the figures. Comparing spatial distributions, this is not always easy to do. For example, in Fig. 4 it is difficult to say that Гa(0→2) does not show significant seasonal changes, as noted in the text (299-302).

Comments and Suggestions for Authors

1.  This paper describes the special and seasonal characteristics of the submesoscales energetics in the Northwest Pacific subtropical ocean. In the second session, the detailed numerical simulation method using ROMS is expressed, and the potential energy and kinetic energy in the target area are calculated in Section 3. The computed results are sophisticated, and it is difficult to obtain a uniform tendency. However, the author is trying to give an proper explanation for each figure. The merit of this paper is that the importance of seasonal change of ocean energy is clearly demonstrated like in Figure 3. The demerit of this paper is that the clear characteristics are not founded like in figure 4 because the distribution stages are so complicated.

2. The research purpose has a clear goal, and it is almost completed. So, the text is revised as “Minor Revisions”

1)Please add a main reason why you choose the target region like Figure1.

2)If possible, please point out “Luzon Straight” in Figure1.

3)Fig.5,6,8..; Please make “unit” on the color bar.

4)Please add a short Conclusion.
