Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

The manuscript shows interesting piece of work but it is poorly written. I am sure that the final version will greatly benefit from the help of a professional editor.

Apart from the use of English, which must be improved, little attention is paid to details:

+ Ropes are labeled  A, B,… but also a,b,…I would encourage authors to homogenize notation.

+ Units. I would prefer using the International System of Units

+ Letters. Font types and sizes are not consistent throughout the text.

+ Notation. Coefficients are labeled Ci,j but also Cij, which is misleading. Please, always use the Ci,j notation.

Other issues:

+ Please, explain how the number of intervals (m) is chosen.

Please, explain why 36 fundamental solutions were considered.

The manuscript needs the help of a professional editor.

Reviewer 2 Report

The paper focuses on the transcient motions of a mooring system which envolves two pontoons (not clarified whether submerged as in Fig. 1 or floating) to exploit current energy. The authors should explain how the system will produce energy from the currents and which is the estimated efficiency of the system. They should also describe the current profile which is introduced in the equations solved. The conclusions refer only on the effect of some parameters of the system on the transcient motions. Nothing is mentioned about the energy recovery and the efficiency of the system. The introduction should be modifid accordingly.

Moderate editing for mistakes in phrases and in the use of sinhular/plural.
