The authors present an applicability of assimilation method to calculate the harmonic constants in the target coastal region of the Bohai and Yellow Sea. It was a well-written manuscript, but there are some errors for the expressions of referencing tables and figures in the text, which should be corrected before the publication. Over all, practical results are shown in the manuscript but the discussion on the validity of the proposed calculation method is not enough. For example, the reason of deviation of the calculated results by the presented method from the observed data only for Q1 component in Figure 4.

Detailed comments for the manuscript is following:

Lines 78 – Is the first sentence referencing Figure 1? The text is not correctly demonstrated and represented as “ (Error! Reference source not found)”.

Line 94 – There is also the same error expression as above. Would it be replaced with Fig.1 ?. If so, the location of tidal gauges are represented only 7 with the red dots.

Line 116 –There is also the same error statement. Which table or figure should be referenced here?

Line 185– The sentence looks missing any words for referencing any figure or table.

Line 191 – Is it correct with the expression of Table 1 here? It seems to be Table 2, according to the meaning of the sentence.

Lines 195 and 208– There are the Error statements on these lines also for the referencing any table or figure. Are they referencing “Figure2”?

Line 215 – The caption for the table should be Table 2, not Table 1.

Line 230 – The sentence should start with not Table 2 but Table 3.

Line 256 - The caption for the table should be Table 3, not Table 2.

Line 260 –There is also the same error statement. The sentence should be referencing Figure 3.

Lines 267 and 269– There are the Error statements on these lines also for the referencing any table or figure. Are they referencing “Figure4”?

Line 293 –There is also the same error statement. Which table or figure should be referenced here?

I am very happy to see that the authors have incorporated most of my comments. However, a few spell corrections and format corrections are needed, which can be taken care of during proof reading.

The article can be accepted in the present format.
