Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

  1. The proposed framework is exactly similar to the work proposed in the following reference. Please highlight the difference
    1. "DenseFuse: A fusion approach to infrared and visible images." IEEE Transactions on Image Processing 28, no. 5 (2018): 2614-2623.
  2. The contribution of the proposed work should be highlighted explicitly in the introduction section.
  3. Experiment section is still weak and requires comparison with other similar method is required.
  4. The detail of the dataset is still missing.

Reviewer 2 Report

I have reviewed the first version of the manuscript and I admit that the quality of the presentation and of the writing have been significantly improved. The calibration section is much more clear now and essential details about the reference network architecture [28] have been added.

The description of the fusion strategies has also been improved. However, I still find the description of cross bilateral filtering strategy problematic. The equations are inconsistent, quantities are defined which are not then used (G_sigmas) and the ideas behind this strategy are not sufficiently motivated.

A major issue of this version is that it is missing all the references. This makes it particularly hard to assess the overall quality of the manuscript.

Minor comments:

-Some parts are missing in some equations/formulas (boxes appear inside)
- In Table 2, figure 7 should be replaced with figure 11

Round 2

Reviewer 1 Report

1. Please explicitly mention the difference and contribution of proposed framework with reference to "DenseFuse: A fusion approach to infrared and visible images." in the revised manuscript.

Reviewer 2 Report

Having reviewed the previous versions of these manuscripts, this manuscript is considerably improved and much more suitable for publication.

The new text inserted in the introduction (L.88-115) is poorly written and needs extensive editing. Also, Figures 4, 5 and 6 are identical to the ones presented in [28]. It is important to explicitly state this either in the text or in the captions of these images.
