Design and Experiment of Feeding Device for Hairy Vetch Harvesting
Round 1
Reviewer 1 Report
When the linear speed of the paddles is too high, the ordi- 266 nary paddles were easy to bounce the cut stems back to the ground, so that the stems 267 unable to be delivered to the feed inlet in time, causing blockage and winding. The curved 268 surface gear was a curved surface structure. When the gear is rotated, it can gather the 269 stems, effectively prevent the stems from falling back to the ground and be transported to 270 the next device in time
On what basis did the author reach this conclusion? It is suggested to supplement through simulation software and high-speed photography experiment

Thank you very much for your valuable comments. We have reached the above conclusions in combination with the problems encountered in the production practice. In order to solve the problems of low mechanization and easy to be entangled in the process of work, we have designed an anti-entanglement feeding device for the sweet potato harvester. The manuscript focuses on computer simulation of the feeding process of the sweet potato, so we have not carried out simulation and high-speed photography of this conclusion.

(1) The first paragraph of "1. introduction" have no any relationship with the subject of the ms. (2) L51, P2. "The hairy vetch is a long diameter crop belonging to the genus Vicia". What is long diameter crop? Should it be "long stem"? (3) Figure 2 is not clear enough for reading. (4) L128-129, P4. "As shown in Fig. 4 (a) (b), it can be seen that the internal tissues of hairy vetch stalks are damaged during compression, and the skin gradually breaks with the increase of load". How it can be seen? The figure didn't show any information about that. (5) L151. Is the equation (2) wrong? (6) In Figure 4-6, what were the legends represented? (7) The ms should give clear figure to show how samples were clamped in tests. (8) The ms should gieve the mean and standard error of testing data. (9) Figure 9 didn't show reader how the blad twisted. (10) Is it more suitable of "twin cutting edges blade" than "twin-blade twist cutter" in L237 and figure 9? (11) The english writing is not good enough.
