Comments and Suggestions for Authors

-         The paper must be improved with two new secions: Experiments and Discussions;

-         P.1, in Abstract: Put some numerical values from the paper;

-         P.1: Improve the quality of section 1. Adding at least 10 references from the last 5 years;

-         P.3, Fig.1: Why did you choose this electrical contact configuration? Is it the most representative and frequently encountered? Why didn't you study other types of electrical contacts? For which current values were the simulations/experiments carried out?

-         P.3, Table 1: What types of alloys/materials did you analyze for electrical contacts?

-         In all paper: Put references at Eqs.;

-         P.6, Fig.4: What do figures a-d represent?

-         P.17, before section 5: Put a new consistent sections Experiments: min. 3 pp. Adding a new section Discussions min 2 pp.

-         P.17, Section 5: What future research results from this paper?

-         P.18, at References: Adding at least 10 references from the last 5 years.

Author Response

The experimental and discussion sections need to be added: Instead of adding new chapters, the sample test conditions, sample introduction, and equipment parameters are appended in a separate table in the introduction section of Chapter 1;

The rest has been modified according to the revision suggestions.

Comments and Suggestions for Authors

Dear Authors,

your paper is interesting. Please make required corrections:

1. At the beginning of your paper the terms surface morphological features and surface roughness appear interchangeably. Please explain this so that the reader has no doubts. It is best to refer to ISO standards.

2. Introduction / state-of-art -  It is worth adding a reference to another paper describing similar issues: https://doi.org/10.1016/j.jasrep.2024.104637 In this paper, surfaces are described using fractal dimensions and other multiscale parameters to describe the microwear of these surfaces after contact between the wear surface and the wear tool surface.

3. Chapter 2. - Text shouldn`t be written under chapter 2, but under chapter 2.1.

4. Fig. 1 - please state the conditions of this contact of two surfaces.

5. chapter 2.2. - please describe material.

6. Line 229 - please provide manufacturer of the device (3D microscope), ale please provide parameters of the measuerements (magnification, field of view, resolution, etc.)

7. Please check units in table 3.
