Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

Authors have considered a  unique and sensitive area of research which is not touched by many researchers,  which is appreciated.

Following minor corrections can be made to improve the quality of the journal.

1. Section 1, title can be changed to " Introduction " instead of Related introduction

2. Few more references can be included in introduction section

3. A brief summary can be included at the end of introduction and survey.

4. Few more works can be included for section 2 study.

5. Section 3.3, can be given separately as " Experimental Results and Discussion " and explained in detail.

6. All the points in the conclusion are more generic, it must be refined with respect to results,  for example,  what is the amount of path loss.

7. Author is suggested to include recent works under section 2.

Author Response

Dear Editors and Reviewers:

Thank you for your letter and for the reviewers’ comments concerning our manuscript entitled “Analysis of Information Transmission Characteristics Based on Adaptive Ground Electrode Current Field” (Manuscript ID: applsci-2307966). Those comments are all valuable and very helpful for revising and improving our paper, as well as the important guiding significance to our researches. We have studied comments carefully and have made correction which we hope meet with approval. We have modified the manuscript and adopted a modification tracking mode, so you can clearly see the modification status. The main corrections in the manuscript and the responds to the reviewer’s comments are as flowing:

Point 1. Section 1, title can be changed to " Introduction " instead of Related introduction.

Response 1: We have made correction according to the Reviewer’s comments.Section 1, title “Related introduction” have changed to " Introduction ".

Point 2. Few more references can be included in introduction section.

Response 2: As Reviewer suggested that four references  have been added in Introduction and Related Work.

Point 3. A brief summary can be included at the end of introduction and survey.

Response 3: As Reviewer suggested that a brief summary has been added after "Related Work".

Point 4. Few more works can be included for section 2 study.

Response 4: As Reviewer suggested that the latest research results at home and abroad from 2013 to 2021 have been added to section 2.

Point 5. Section 3.3, can be given separately as " Experimental Results and Discussion " and explained in detail.

Response 5: We have re-written this part according to the Reviewer’s suggestion. In this section, a comparison between the theoretical calculated value and the actual measured value of the path loss at a frequency of 1-10 Hz is added, and the results are summarized.

Point 6. All the points in the conclusion are more generic, it must be refined with respect to results,  for example,  what is the amount of path loss.

Response 6: It is really true as Reviewer suggested that the relevant content has been added.

Point 7. Author is suggested to include recent works under section 2.

Response 7: As Reviewer suggested that the latest research results at home and abroad from 2013 to 2021 have been added to section 2.

Special thanks to you for your good comments.

We appreciate for Editors/Reviewers’ warm work earnestly, and hope that the correction will meet with approval.

Once again, thank you very much for your comments and suggestions.

Kind regards,

Jingang He

Reviewer 2 Report

I have three questions for the authors below:

1. Regarding the impedance control approach, why not consider reactance instead of the resistance of the antenna?

2. What would happen if the collapsed earth structure is gaseous or liquid? Any simulation results for such a structure?

3. Imho, the manuscript would gives a strong impact if the author could compare their simulation result to any previous analysis on certain previous related cases in China.

The main corrections in the manuscript and the responds to the reviewer’s comments are as flowing:

Point 1. Regarding the impedance control approach, why not consider reactance instead of the resistance of the antenna?

Response 1: As Reviewer suggested that both reality and the resistance of the antenna have been considered for impedance control approach in our research.

Point 2. What would happen if the collapsed earth structure is gaseous or liquid? Any simulation results for such a structure?

Response 2: Considering the Reviewer’s questions,If the collapsed earth structure is liquid, theoretically our achievements can be applied, but this requires specialized research, and we have not currently conducted relevant research work. If the collapsed earth structure is gaseous, our achievements can not applicable.

Point 3. Imho, the manuscript would gives a strong impact if the author could compare their simulation result to any previous analysis on certain previous related cases in China.

Response 3: It is really true as Reviewer suggested that we have added relevant content to the manuscript.

Special thanks to you for your good comments.
