Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

The manuscript may be of interest for the readers of the Journal of applied sciences. I suggest the manuscript should be greatly revised before accepted. The issues below are addressed:

1. Although unexpected events during the gliding phase effects were taken into consideration in the proposed model, these effects have not been fully analyzed and discussed which need to be added.

2. The appendix should give the theoretical model equations of D-V profile method; Fast prediction method

3. English needs some editing, there are some spelling mistakes and non-professional words in this manuscript.

4. The authors should also include in References section the papers:

https://doi.org/10.1007/s40430-022-03954-5

doi:10.1177/09544062221141588

5. In figures include the name of the parameter along x and y axis

6. Figure 3 and figure 6 are not included in manuscript. Less care taken in preparing manuscript.

7. Please explain the practical application value and research significance of the proposed method. in introduction section. Why do you want to study the six-point method with such characteristics? Is it just because of less attention on it?

8. Representation of Figure 4 can improved to better understand the reader.

9. All figures should be maintained same size as per the standards.

Reviewer 2 Report

1. Good work. Both analytical and numerical analytical techniques are studied and weighed.

2. Figures 3, 6 is missing. DBM giving more accuracy over TIM is appreciable.

3. For the equations in (1), a schematic diagram(s) can be provided to show the various parameters.

4. Has any procedure been followed to check the veracity of the equations?

5. What is meant by the reference area Sm?

6. Can be written as “gr’ and gωe are the components of the earth’s gravitational acceleration in the direction of the geocentric radius vector and the angular velocity of the earth’s rotation respectively”.

7. Unit of heating rate constant, k, to be given.

8. Origin of the equations (2), (3) and (4) not mentioned along with nomenclature of the parameters such as D, L, ρ and V.

9. What are the maximum values of the parameters in the equations mentioned in point 6.

10. What is the origin of Fig.1? What are the values of D and V mentioned along the x and y axes?

11. What is the meaning of the statement “Error! Reference source not found”?

12. Figs. 3 and 6 are missing.

13. What are the maximum values for the parameters in Fig. 2?

14. What is CAV-H mentioned in line 287.

15. Are the values in the various tables Table 1, 2, 3, etc experimentally determined?

Reviewer 3 Report

The authors presented a paper named “A Fast Prediction Method for the Target Reachable Zone of Boosting Gliding Vehicle Based on Database” which is good, need to be improved by the following recommendations:

Give numerical results about the paper in abstract.

How the authors evaluate the success of the paper?

There are a few citations in the results and discussion. Why?

The explanations about the figures are not enough.

What is the novelty of the paper?

Please provide a comparative analyze in discussion section.

Add 3-4 outcomes from the study into the conclusions.

Provide at least 6-7 MDPI papers in order to improve the paper and for showing the context of the paper is proper for this media.

Reviewer 4 Report

Overall a well written paper. A few questions.

(1) The authors should describe more on the robustness of their approach, especially when there are multiple confounding factors.

(2) The accuracy declined with increased number of standard bank reversals. How would the degradation affect the implementation of the method? What are the impacts, and How to improve on it?
