Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

The authors reported “Influence of rare earth samarium/ytterbium salt on electrochemical corrosion behavior of aluminum-based anode for batteries” in this study. The manuscript is organized and presents necessary experimental data for publication. However, the logic behind using rare-earth elements (REEs) as a corrosion preventive is not justified. The world is desperately searching for less abundant REEs, which are difficult to extract and expensive. Therefore, the authors should clearly state the source of this REE salt and the techno-economic feasibility of their utilization in the study. After appropriate reasoning of the REEs utilization, I will recommend it for publication.

Reply: Thank you for your instructive comment. It has been accepted and changed. The source of REE salts used in this study is explained in page 3 lines 112~114. In addition, the techno-economic feasibility of REE salts in utilization is supplemented, see page 2 lines 69~71, page 18 lines 550~556.
