Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

The manuscript entitled "Lessons learned from the pilot phase of a population wide genomic screening program: Building the base to reach a diverse 2 cohort of 100,000 participants" by Allen et al. presents the results of the pilot phase of a population-level genomic testing programme designed by the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) in collaboration with Helix. This is an interesting and sound study, clearly presented and with very interesting results. It is very well organised clearly presented and written. I believe that the results/conclusions will be very helpful for other consortia aiming to implement similar studies. Of special interest is the qualitative part of the study which highlights but also explains several of the quantitative results of the study.

Reviewer 2 Report

thank you for inviting me to revise the paper entitled "Lessons learned from the pilot phase of a population wide ge- 1 nomic screening program: Building the base to reach a diverse 2 cohort of 100,000 participants"

the paper discuss a very important subjects which is the social acceptance of genetic screening and its feasibility among patients and potential cases.

the paper is well written, the methodology was fairly described and the result was sufficiently detailed. the discussion and the conclusion were logical. I recommend accepting the paper in its present form.

the paper was well written and i recommend the acceptance
