This case report describes the diagnosis of collision tumour in an 81-year-old female patient in the absence of kaposi sarcoma and negative HIV infection.
This article describes this rare case in detail and the comparison of this case findings in relation to the other 3 cases diagnosed in other regions. The topic is fully covered regarding the possible pathogenesis and adequate methodology for the accurate diagnosis, and direct future research to detect the correlation between immune dysregulation intrinsic to AITL, which can create a permissive environment for HHV-8 reactivation and KS development. The article is well-sited with relevant and recent references. Adequate quality of figures and tables.

Comments and Suggestions for AuthorsThis case report by Myung-Won Lee and Jin-Man Kim describes a unique case of a Collision Tumor in an 81 year old Korean woman. This case represents the 4th describing a tumor comprising AITL and KS in an HIV-negative patient, and is the the first reported occurrence in Asia.
The report is clear and well written with appropriate references. The discussion is substantial and explores the concept that the immune dysregulation from AITL can create a permissive environment for HHV-8 reactivation and KS development. They place this case within the context of the existing 3 documented cases and discuss how findings from all of them may be interpreted as well as suggesting potential treatment strategies. Figures are clear and relevant.
Overall this is a great article and is valuable to the community.
