Test Groups, Not Individuals: A Review of the Pooling Approaches for SARS-CoV-2 Diagnosis
Round 1
Reviewer 1 Report
The review, titled ‘Test groups, not individuals: A review of the pooling 2 approaches for Sars-Cov-2 diagnosis’, surveys pooling schemes and techniques for SARS-CoV-2 diagnoisis. The survey supports designing pooling testing method for COVID-19 diagnosis. The review is well-writtten. I recommend the review for publication after following minor revisions.
- The name of the virus shall be 'SARS-CoV-2', instead of 'Sars-CoV-2'. Please correct the name in the whole paper.
- Page 2 line 86: ‘a number of samples is’ should be ’ a number of samples are’.
- Page 6 line 155 (caption of Figure 5): ‘pools is regards’ should be ‘pools are regarded’.
- Page 10 line 295: ‘increase the by’ should be ‘increase by’.
- Page 10 line 297: pre-syntomatic?
- Page 10 line 299: ‘pooled (>100) sample’ -> ‘pooled (>100) samples’.
- Page 10 line 315: ‘Authors’->’authors’.
- Page 10 line 317: ‘due a’ ->’due to a’.
- Page 10 line 329: ‘pooled sample’->’pooled samples’.

Reviewer 2 Report
The manuscript provides very helpful insights into the pooling strategy for COVID-19 diagnosis and I would like to incline that the paper should be published as soon as possible for supporting the optimized COVID-19 pooling test. One minor comment from my side is that using capital letters for SARS would be better, as it is abbreviation. i.e., Sars-Cov-2 -> SARS-CoV-2.
