Comments and Suggestions for Authors

The manuscript shows an interesting solution to a common problem in the production process. The paper could be published, if the following comments are answered or corrected.

1.        The introduction should be expanded to contain at least 10 more references from the last 5 years in the topic of tool changing mechanism development.

2.        Line 64. Please explain the selection of the example values.

3.        Line 89 and 110. The text in Figures 3 and 4 are not good quality and it is different style from the main text.

4.        The different parameters and variables should be named and defined at the first appearance of their abbreviation.

5.        Line 114. The number of the figure should be also written in the text.

6.        Line 127. This expression contains a lot of information, but it is only 1 Equation. This should be rearranged.

7.        Line 145, 156. References should be added for these equations.

8.        Line 188. Please explain the meaning of the black and the red curve.

9.        Line 188-191. The figure says 0.8078 N, the text says 807.8 N. Which is true?

10.   Line 236. Please mark the different diagrams with a,b,c,d. The legends for the blue and red curves need to be rewritten.

11.   Line 245. This line is not formatted as the main text.

12.   Line 285. Figure 14 should indicate better, what is the main difference in the optimized model.

13.   Line 312. The size and quality of Figure 17 should be increased and the text should be reformatted.

14.   Line 347. What is Vtext?

Comments and Suggestions for Authors

The article entitled: “Simulation and Analysis of Double Compound CAM Pusher Tool Changing Mechanism for NC Machine Tool” presents an important and current topic in relation to the contemporary needs in the field of automation of manufacturing processes.

The article presents an interesting solution for a tool change system, but the materials contained in the article are a bit chaotic. There are many threads, but it is difficult to find clear conclusions in each topics, as if the research was not yet sufficiently advanced.

Detailed comments:

There is no separate chapter of the literature review in the work. It should be consider introducing it because the attached bibliography indicates extensive material on this topic. The literature review may be concluded with conclusions in relation to modern methods of tool changers system analysis.

Explanations should be supplemented in Figures 1 and 2 related to how the presented increases in linear and angular speed relate to the tool change cycle.

Figure 3 and Figure 8 show the same scheme of mechanisms.

Figures 4-7 if they supports refer to formulas included in the work they should be bigger and more clear (there are not legible when are enlarged).

Figure 8 should have a more detailed explanation of what is in this figure. Figure 8 contains four sections. They should be marked and described in detail both in the text and in the caption.

Figures 12 and 13 should be commented on in more detail in the text in terms of the information they contain, similarly to Figures 15 and 16.

Figure 18 should contain a scheme of how data is collected from the model and how it is processed.

Figure 20 in the text should have a detailed commentary, what it contains and how to interpret the data contained in it.

The conclusions should not be a summary of the article, but should include the results of the research, i.e. what functional features the new design has in relation to other solutions offered on the market.

Comments and Suggestions for Authors

The data collection and processing system is still somewhat unclear. There are talk of filtering and data processing, but no procedure is given for this.
