Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

This study proposes the green mining technical method system of "L-H method" which is applicable to the safe and efficient mining of gas outburst coal seam. At the same time, the article carried out engineering verification of the actual implementation effect of the proposed method and achieved certain application effects. Resolved the problem safe and efficient mining under the coal seam with gas outburst, such as difficulties in mining, large amount of work, serious waste of resources, no guarantee of gas treatment time and low economic efficiency. This article has certain promotion value and practical value. But there are several problems need to resolve before publishing.

(1) We consider the entire article to be more of a project report than a scientific paper, the lack of connection between chapters leads to the lack of logicality of the whole article.

(2) The language of the manuscript is unclear at times, and some incorrect sentences structure in the text, which is hard to fellow. Some rough syntax issues frequently appear in article. The quality of the English should be improved. Maybe provide certification.

(3) As your title of manuscript, author should provide a brief introduction of H coal mine, such as engineering geologic condition...

(4) What’s your main results of your manuscript? It’s not show clearly in Discussion section. What are your main results that make your investigation applicable compared to previous studies or technologies?

(5) Some professional terms translated differently in manuscript, author need use uniformly technical terms, such as: Gob-side entry retaining and Layer by layer gas extraction….

(6) The 4.1 and 4.2 in Discussion is not the main topic in this section, we suggest simplify them and combine these two sections.

(7)In section 2.2, author mentioned “working face A”, but cannot find working face A in figure 8. The text does not match the figure.

(8)In section 2.2, replace “ S. Tendency” to “S, tendency”. Please focus on incorrect punctuation.

(9) The conclusion is not concise; it should be shortened and simplify.

Dear Authors,

there are some missing elements in the manuscript:

  1. There is no real Methods section, containing literature review and analysis of existing approaches.
  2. There is no traditional Results section, preceding Discussion section.
  3. The References list is quite short and needs to be more international.

Good luck!

Paper title: Study on High-efficiency Mining Technology System for Gas Outburst Coal Seam -Example of H Coal Mine

The present manuscript describes the numerical simulation of the temperature distribution and evolution law of underground lignite gasification. The effects of different coal thicknesses, advance speeds of the flame working face, and surrounding rock type on the gasifier were analyzed.

A manuscript has a practical application and also provide important theoretical for the next studies.

The paper is well structured and can be accepted for publication after providing the corrections mentioned below.

Point 1. The abstract section sounds like descriptions. The abstract should follow the MDPI style of structured abstracts:

- Background (place the question addressed in a broad context and highlight the purpose of the study);

- Methods (describe briefly the main methods);

- Results (summarize the article's main findings);

- Conclusion (indicate the main conclusions or interpretations).

Keywords need to be modified. Please use words not combinations of words or phrases. For example: “gas outburst”, “coal seam” instead of “gas outburst coal seam”; “mining” mining instead of “mining model” etc.

Point 2. In the Introduction section, an enhanced literature review is required. For this study, the authors have used only 21 literature sources (8 in the Introduction section). It seems insufficient for such type of research. It will be great if the authors show some description in context – Why it is important to conduct this study? What was already done but not only in China? etc.

Point 3. The aim and the tasks must be highlighted at the end of the Introduction section.

Point 4. Figures 1-7 are not diagrams. Please use another word.

Point 5. Figures 1, 4, 5, 6, 7 – What does Cis-layer mean?

Point 6. It is difficult to look at Figures 1-7 and read the text on pages 2-5.

Maybe you will consider another way to explain figures 1-7 as follow (see the attachment).

(a)

(b)

(c)

(d)

(e)

(f)

(g)

Point 7. Section 3.1 Authors must give physical and mechanical properties of rock and coal mass when building Numerical calculation model.

Point 8. Figures 13-16 must be shown as figures (a) – (d) within the one figure.

Point 9. Line 346. 14,989,000 m3. Does it mean 14,9 mln. m3? The same question is in the line 347.

Point 10. Please consider the suggested research in your paper when enhancing the literature review:

Point 6. In general, I must admit that a very good study was performed.
