These corrections are all acceptable.  The material removed is mostly concerned with the funding and governance of observatories in relation to donors.  The authors' views on this are, of course, legitimate, but if they wish to remove/correct this material then this in no way limits the relevance and utility of the resulting paper for the readership.

I have checked the corrections of the manuscript. I agree with the reviewer that the removal of some parts of the article does not limit the relevance and utility of the paper for the journal's readership. It seems to me that the corrections are more a result of external pressure from funding agencies or partners than a case of not having had sufficient time in the revision process. In sum, I have nothing against the corrections of the article, please go ahead with the publication.
