Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

I appreciated the topic and the methodology proposed. The paper is clear and well-written, and I  believe it deserves to be considered for publication in Land.

Anyway, I strongly suggest the authors test the collinearity between the variables used. This will strengthen their paper results.

Line 111: there’s a typo here “::”

Figure 1: for consistency, in the top-left box add the North Arrow.

Line 141 - 143: I suggest using the Köppen–Geiger climate classification system.

Line 267: “lclu” should be capitalised: LULC

Reviewer 2 Report

The topic is very interesting, it explores the transformations of the traditional and relative pristine cultural landscapes, in the High-mountain in Georgia´s Lesser Caucasus.

I recommend that you articulate the research problem more strongly in the introduction and formulate a few research questions that were answered during the research.

Besides, please explain, why the German authors were working on this area has not been substantiated? Did they work under the grant/project, as was the field research conducted? Were these broad works can giving a point of reference for the comparative analyses for transformation of another mountain landscapes of European areas?
