Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

The current study aims to take an in-depth look at the mechanisms of change in the urban green infrastructure and provide concrete planning recommendations for dealing with the green infrastructure.

It is suggested that the abstract presents the procedures used to achieve the objectives. What complex approach was used? (line 21)

In the introduction, it is important to present the spatial scope of the research in detail. A map of the location of the cities under analysis is also important.

In addition to figure 2, it is important to inform what the areas of urban Green Infrastructure represent in the set of built-up areas. This information from the different cities can be represented as a percentage.

The recommendations at the end are very generic. Are there specificities for the cities studied?

Reviewer 3 Report

The paper "Mechanisms of change in the urban green infrastructure. Evidence from Romania and Poland" presents some specific recommendations to inform the planning processes that deal with the green infrastructure deployment in urbanized settlements.

The paper well adhers to the aims of the journal.

The structure is clear and all relevant sections are present and well-organized. Unfortunately, despite the choice of methodology approach could be considered almost pertinent, concluding recommendations provided by authors turn out to be very general and predictable (even always true?).

However, I have really favorably noticed the section 4.3, which is quite relevant to highlight the important limitations of the study.

Considering that the abovementioned limitations are practically impossibile to solve but the paper's focus is of great interest and the manuscript is written in an accurate way overall, I lean toward its publication.
