Comments and Suggestions for Authors

This communication presents a significant advancement in the field of wastewater treatment by introducing a novel approach to enhance the catalytic properties of silicon carbide membrane filters (SCMFs) through the modification with Co/Al-layered double hydroxides (Co/Al-LDHs). The comprehensive characterization and performance evaluation clearly demonstrate the effectiveness of the modified SCMFs in activating persulphate for aniline degradation. The study is well-structured, with thorough experimental methods and insightful analysis, contributing valuable insights to the development of advanced membrane technologies for environmental applications.

The paper is generally well-written and informative, a few minor revisions could enhance its clarity and impact,

1 Ensure all figures and images are of high quality and clearly labeled, which will improve the overall readability and understanding of the results.

2 the conclusion should be further condensed

3 more reference should be proposed on the potential mechanisms behind the transformation of Co/Al-LDHs to Co3O4, which could provide deeper insights.

As a sum, I suggest a minor revision for this study.

Comments and Suggestions for Authors

The manuscript is subjected to some improvement before being accepted for publication:

1.       Section 2.2 Schematic diagram of Synthesis of Co/Al-LDHs coated SCMFs should be provided for better understanding.

2.       Section 3.2 Did author check which operating parameter has more effect for removal efficiency? Such as reaction time, addition of persulphate, and flow velocity.

3.       The font size of Fig. 6 should be consistent with other figures.

4.       Introduction: some recent references/studies must be added and discussed.

5.       Line # 128 and line # 225, the mentioned S1-S5 and S4 are missing in the file.

Comments and Suggestions for Authors

The paper can be published after the consideration of the following points:

1) The introduction of the work should be expanded by discussing the limitations of the current technologies used for aniline degradation, highlighting their shortcomings. Furthermore, the relevant literature on aniline removal through advanced oxidation processes should be cited.

2) Nâ‚‚ adsorption measurements at -196°C should be carried out to discuss potential changes in the specific surface area after the addition of Co/Al-LDH.

3) The reaction intermediate detected by GC analysis should be indentified.

4) To check the mineralization ability, TOC measurements should be performed.
