Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

This paper reported the WO3 loaded porous carbon nitride to remove methylene blue through photo-Fenton-like process. The experimental results also demonstrated that the Z-scheme heterojunction of MCA-CN/WO3 with high degradation efficiency of methylene blue. The results are well explained and the whole paper is easy to follow. This paper can be published after carefully addressing the following issues:

1. On page 3, in the characterization section, "•OH and 1O2 were measured by electron paramagnetic resonance spectrometer", however, the relevant data of •OH was not given in the article.

2. In figure 2, the SEM images of MCA-CN/WO3 should be given. It is recommended that the EDX spectrum of figure f be replaced by the survey spectrum.

3. Why does MCA-CN/WO3 have a lower surface area than MCA-CN? please explain it.

4. In radical quenching experimental, why the concentration of L-His is 200, while the concentration of EDTA and IPA is 100? Whether the concentration of quencher is related to the degradation rate of methyl orange?
