Paraclostridium tenue Exhibits Antitumor Activity Through Generating Antitumor Metabolites and Modulating Gut Microbiota
Highlights
- Paraclostridium tenue strain Pt517 suppresses the proliferation and promotes the apoptosis of colorectal cancer cells in vitro.
- Oral administration of Pt517 significantly suppresses tumor growth in a CT26 syngeneic mouse model.
- The anti-CRC effect of Pt517 is associated with modulation of tumor immunity and remodeling of the gut microbiota.
- The antitumor effects of Pt517 may be mediated via the secretion of long-chain fatty acids, including stearic acid and palmitic acid.
