It is valuable to demonstrate the existing knowledge gaps and possible further research directions. The authors received a partial answer to the research questions posed. However, they indicated the existing limitations and the need to supplement knowledge in the indicated scope. Review works constitute an important source of knowledge for researchers, facilitate the discussion of results, and by identifying existing gaps in research, they can inspire the development of specific research directions.

• In the title, I propose to add 'western': …. for Western European temperate regions…
• I propose to delete the last paragraph in ‘Introduction’, i.e. lines 129-137, in my opinion redundant. The titles of chapters and subsections inform about the layout of the work's content.
