Response to Reviewer 1

------------------------------------

Reviewer 1: I propose to change the first letters of the months to Arabic or Roman numerals - Table 1 and Figures 1, 2, 3.

Response: The first letters of the months did change to Roman numerals in Table 1 and Figures 1, 2 and 3.

------------------------------------

Reviewer 1: - only one site from which the plants were harvested - what was the basis for selecting the site

Reviewer 1: - only 10 plants

Response: Pancratium maritimum grown on coastal, popular touristic areas in Greece is under particular threat and conservation measures are adopted very quickly by the Greek Ministry of Environment. Therefore, we ought to have an official permission in order to collect our monthly samples (maximum 10 plants), from the research site they pointed us, which does not belong to the Natura 2000 sites and is considered as a secondary-interesting touristic area. The above-mentioned aspect was written in the originally submitted text [see lines 73-74: “It is noteworthy that the number of replicates was were kept to a minimum due to the conservation status of P. maritimum”. Also, the floristic composition of the research site was hitherto unknown, and for this reason a secondary objective of the study was to provide an inventory for sea daffodil of this sandy beach.

------------------------------------

Reviewer 1: - tests carried out in one season only

Response: tests carried out during one year.
