The journal retracts the article “In-Situ Yeast Fermentation to Enhance Bioconversion of Coconut Endosperm Waste into Larval Biomass of Hermetia illucens: Statistical Augmentation of Larval Lipid Content” [1] cited above.
Following publication, concerns were brought to the attention of the Editorial Office regarding serious flaws in the methodology as well as a significant overlap of data presented in this article [1] and another published paper by a similar authorship group [2].
Adhering to our complaint procedure, an investigation was conducted by the Editorial Office and Editorial Board that confirmed major methodological and statistical flaws in this article [1] as well as an overlap with the data presented in another published paper [2]. While the authors cooperated with the Editorial Office during the investigation, they were unable to satisfactorily reply to flagged concerns. Given the impact that these errors have on the validity of the overall findings, the Editorial Board have decided to retract this publication [1], as per MDPI’s retraction policy (https://www.mdpi.com/ethics#_bookmark30).
This retraction was approved by the Editor-in-Chief of the journal Sustainability.
The authors did not agree to this retraction.
