Reviewer 2 Report
The aim of this paper is quite interesting. Study results may add to the existing knowledge. However, the following flaws need to be taken care of prior to publication acceptance:
1. Adding the study area in the paper title may be helpful.
2. Punctuation may be simplified as “[7][8]” instead of “[7];[8]”.
3. What is real meaning of the sentence “Except in 2015, ….” in Lines 81-82?
4. Please include definition for all the variables listed in the equations 1, 2, 3 and 4. Besides, the exact same variable name must be used.
5. One form of citation format must be used throughout the entire text, not “Wang et al., 2020” in Line 142.
6. All acronym names must be defined when first appear, only ONCE and be used thereafter.
7. Where is the reference for “Statistics Indonesia”?
8. Author(s) name should be included before “[18]” and “[35]”.
9. Equation 6 is very odd without any variable name on the left-hand-side of the equation.
10. Descriptive in Lines 183-192 is very difficult to understand. What is the base year, 2015 or 2025?
11. Why not include the LULC map for 2015 at the beginning of the results section?
12. If the supplementary figures are essential to the results presentation, why not include them in the regular text?
13. No x-axis, y-axis labeling and legend have been included in Figure 5.
14. It is not easy to identify reduction/declining percentage in Table 3.
15. What is the unit for the vertical axis of Figure 7?
16. Is that the area in “lower rice field” in Line 302?
17. As mentioned there are many uncertainties in rice supply and demand, it may be helpful to describe how large/small the impact from each parameter is. If all these parameters are of little impact, only rice production area parameter is of significant influence, it will tremendously enhance the accuracy and reliability of this study results.
18. The format to list the references should conform to the requirement of the Journal. Besides, last name of the first authors must be used at the beginning of each reference listing.
19. Many English language errors have been detected, such as in Line 318.
