Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

As you know BS hypothesis tries to link between productivity and PPP. I think you are showing very good framework of this skill in your article.

Your paper deals with testing two distinct but inter-linked conditions for investigating the authenticity of BS effect for emerging Asia.

Also you have tested the interrelation between PPP and LOP clearly.

One question: Why are your references so old? The earliest is 2012.

Best Regards.

The paper explores the Balassa- SAMUELSON effect in productivity in exchange rate movement and explores the FMOLS and DOLS cointegration approaches. While the finding adds values to the present empirical literature and could motivate readership.

The authors need to make some changes.

(a)   The abstract need to remotivated to indicate the methodology and contribution f the study to the literature.

(b)   In the introduction, lots of categorical statement are made without citation. The authors need to work on these aspects.

(c)   A separate section exploring literature review and summarising the merits and demerits of scholarly contribution is required.

(d)   The model should be explained under the methodology or empirical strategy

(e)   The conclusion needs to include the policy implications of the findings and suggestion for further studies.

(f)    The author needs to explore recent literatures and improve their level of engagement of the readers.

(g)   The authors need to compare their results with previous literature.

Reviewer 3 Report

The manuscript titled ‘Real Exchange Rate and the Traded Goods Prices: Revisiting Balassa-Samuelson Hypothesis from a New Perspective’ is well written and relevant to the research community. Nonetheless, there are a few issues that need addressing to improve the quality of the manuscript as follows:

Citations without outer parentheses, such as ‘Ito et al., (1999)’ should be written without a comma as ‘Ito et al. (1999)’

Similarly, all the in-text citations must be written appropriately with periods and commas where necessary.

Table 1 is not numbered.

Tables 3-5 are not mentioned in the manuscripts. All the tables must be cited or discussed in the article…

There are no clear chapters presenting Materials and Methods and Results and Discussion. These chapters should be presented.
