Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

The overall paper has been written in a good manner and due to its importance, the research is very indispensable to present in the era of deadly COVID-19. The results contribute to the betterment of hospitals' air ventilation and help designers.

I have a few suggestions/recommendations explained below. The improvement in light of these suggestions can further increase its worth and can make it easy to understand.

  • The Abstract, Introduction, and conclusion are good and understandable however the topic can be changed/reshaped.
  • Need to improve English grammar, I found observed several words/sentences need to improve grammatically.
  • Typos should be removed.
  • Present the used Navier-Stokes equation and its mathematical form (if possible).
  • For the simulation authors have used Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) software, so explain about its working procedure and if you have written a program/coded then mention few steps of that code, if you have only given parameters to the software to get your results then explain, in few sentences, how it works?
  • In the last lines, 211 and 212 the reference numbers 11 and 12 are not in the clear format.
  • “k-ɛ turbulent” model needs to explain.
  • It was written that the reduction of noise can be achieved simultaneously by the present method. I will suggest, to add few figures in the manuscript regarding the reduction of the noise if it is achieved.

In this paper, the study of enhancing air quality for embedded hospital germicidal lamps is made. Before being published, I suggest improvements in the content.

The introduction and the references should be improved.

More details about the numerical software should be added.

The picture quality should be increased. As example, the mesh generation should be improved.

The plans presented in figures 8 should be represented in figure 6, as example.

In the numerical simulation all data should be presented, as example, in a table: the inlet conditions, the turbulent constants, and other important information in the numerical simulation.

The results should be improved. All topics should be more discussed.

Round 2

Reviewer 1 Report

The revised Manuscript (MS) was re-read and checked the modified parts of the MS. The shape of the paper now completely good and all the figures are visible, understandable, and clear. The provided details of the Navier-Stokes equations and the k- turbulent model clear the picture of the conducted research. It is now understood that how the simulation works. Also, the parameters used for simulation purposes have been detailed in the MS. For the noise, provided figure gives a clear image and the explanation in the text supports it. In the mathematical equations, a little space in between them is important if possible.

I again urge you to read it again fix this minor problem and remove the English typing if any.

Are there other applications of this research to air quality in schools or other places of assembly, for instance?  Expanding air quality research into these areas would be timely and relate the research to a broader audience.
