I believe that the article raises important issues relating to the COVID-19 pandemic. These are related to the operation of Smart Airports. In order to ensure the epidemiological safety of air passengers during their stay at the airport, it was proposed to use Industry 4.0 technology.

The presented analysis of the use of Industry 4.0 is correctly described.The proposals and insights put forward are helpful in planning the operation of the Smart Airport under the COVID-19 pandemic conditions.

However, I have some comments on the literature review. I believe that a publication that is almost 50 years old should not be cited. This applies to heading 26. I therefore ask the authors to correct this error.

Thank you for your efforts. I am sending my comments, proposals for adjustments.

This review concerns the paper entitled „The role and influence of Industry 4.0. in airport 3 operations in the context of COVID-19 “. This paper provides interesting research results in an important topic on a current worldwide problem.

My additional comments and suggestions for editing the text:

  1. Even though the authors brought absorbing results, please try to supplement the information from foreign literature.  Please, consider enriching the literature review mainly in the “Introduction” part.
  2. Please, consider enriching results of this research by more statistical data/graphical expression of the development of this issue in air transport.
  3. Please, explain a confirmation /add a validation/ of the basic hypothesis in this paper in more details.
  4. It is necessary to clarify and complete the conclusions of the paper. What is the contribution to the change in the issue? How will the results of this research affect further development? The conclusions section should be strengthened - the authors should highlight the limitations of this research and how they will be addressed in future research.
