Risk of Stroke or Heart Attack in Mild Cognitive Impairment and Subjective Cognitive Impairment
Abstract
:1. Introduction
- To determine the incidence and characteristics of major acute vascular events;
- To classify patients in terms of risk factors and incidence of stroke and heart attack to dementia according to the diagnosis of cognitive impairment: SCI, single-domain amnestic mild cognitive impairment (aMCI-SD), and multiple-domain amnestic mild cognitive impairment (aMCI-MD);
- To assess mortality and progression to dementia among the different diagnostic groups;
- To detect the close temporal relationship between the onset of cognitive deficit and acute vascular events.
