Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

There are several things to be explained and clarified to help readers understanding.

1. What is the initial condition for the analysis? According to the equation (1), which calculates rotation periods, it is likely to start from bareland.

2. The flow chart in Figure 3 does not match to the scenario 3. What does year 40 do in this chart?

3. How pulpwood is sourced from clearcut stands in scenario 1? Pulpwood sourced from thinned stands is bigger than from clearcut in the scenario.

4. Figure 8 is not consistent with its explanation in the text, I think.

5. On page 14, Figure 9 and Figure 10 in parentheses should be replaced by 10 and 11, respectively.

Reviewer 2 Report

The work is interesting. The methodology chosen and the description of the results are understandable and sufficient.

The discussion is clearly expandable and in need of supplementation. The literature references are insufficient.

A broader context for the implementation of the research is missing, especially the consequences and possibilities for the implementation of the results.
