Comments and Suggestions for Authors

In this paper, the authors proposed an energy management strategy by applying a multi-objective optimization technique, called Non-dominated Sorting Genetic Algorithm II (NSGA-II) to fine tune the energy system parameters to optimize the system performance.

Here are my comments regarding this manuscript:

1) To show the contributions of the paper, please provide a summary table to compare between the work done here with the work done previously in the literature. It would be easier to determine the research gap.

2) Are there other equivalent circuits for the Lithium-ion battery and ultracapacitors reported in the literature? Why did you choose this specific model reported in section 2.3?

3) Figures 6 and 7 are not readable, please revise their quality.

Comments and Suggestions for Authors

General comments

The authors propose, in the submitted paper energies-3508347 a paper about “Research on Multi-Objective Parameter Matching and Stepwise Energy Management Strategy for Hybrid Energy Storage System”. In this paper the authors present the results of a study proposes an energy management strategy (EMS) based on stepwise rules optimized by Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) as a strategy to efficiently distributing power across hybrid energy storage system (HESS), what is still a major challenge in enhancing overall system performance

The paper deals with a very well-known topic, I suggest some aspects to improve:

  • The paper is plenty of abbreviations and would benefit from a nomenclature and formulae section.
  • The introduction should be divided into a specific review of the state of the art. In this, the authors should analyze the novelties in comparison to previous research in the field.
  • Table 1: before introducing a particular case study it is required to present the whole model and justify if it would be applicable to different case studies
  • Figure 4 should be placed in the beginning of the paper, to clarify the method (previous comment).
  • Re-structure the paper and first explain the methodology and later, the case study as validation
  • The paper is interesting and the validation section is well presented.

Sincerely,

The reviewer.

Comments and Suggestions for Authors

The article "Research on Multi-Objective Parameter Matching and Stepwise Energy Management Strategy for Hybrid Energy Storage System" was reviewed and the following observations were made:

- The abstract, keywords and introduction are adequate in their structure and content.
- Section 2 should consist of the review of previous works, so it is suggested to include this section.
- It is important to include a methodology section
-The modeling system is well structured with its subsections. Update the section number.
- The current sections 4 and 5 are clear and well structured. The information is adequate. The graphs are clear, the equations are cited and numbered, which is correct.
- The section regarding the conclusions should include the future work that arises from this research, and also highlight the novelty of this study.

Please improve the weak points indicated in this review and prepare for a new evaluation.
