The authors present a synthesis of a single compound 2-(4-chlorophenyl)-4-(3,4-dimethoxyphenyl)-6-methoxy-3-methylquinoline. Although the synthesis is well described and the final target compound fully characterised it is questionable why the research was done.

Nevertheless I recommend the paper for publication after a minor revision. Authors should look for a typographical errors such as in the title of the article where an additional hyphen is in the name of the compound. Also a brief discussion or a statement about the relative stereochemistry  of intermediate 4 should be added.

In this short note the authors described a 2,4-diarylquinoline derivative obtained in a two step  sequence from commercially available reactant. The calculated lipophilicity is to high to expect interesting bioabsorption properties but this compound is new (checked on Scifinder) and the structure elucidation is conclusive. I therefore recommend the publication of this paper after adressing some points listed below:

1- I suggest to move the last sentence of the abstract "On the other hand, these 2,4-diaryl substituted quinolines are frequently used for transition metal complexation that is applicable for optoelectronic materials": indeed the abstract should be a summary of the manuscript and this point is not developped in the paper: It could be moved to the conclusion.

2- Regarding Application of diarylquinoline in optoelectornic I suggest to add the following review paper: Russ. Chem. Rev. 2019, 88, 1128.

3- The last two sentence of introduction could be deleted: this is almost the same thing than the begining of results and dissussion part.

4- Scheme 1 2nd arrow: µW instead of µM. I suggest ot remove the title of the scheme (or at least to shorten it)

5- I suggest ot add a few words about structure elucidation of intermediate 4.

6- The cosy spectrum of 5 should be added in ESI.

7- In experimental part, the mass obtained should be added to % yield.
