The title compounds – N-(3-acetyl-2-thienyl)-2-bromoacetamide and N-(3-acetyl-2-thienyl)-2- phthalimidoacetamide – were synthesized in one step from 3-acetylthiophen-2-amine and the corresponding acetyl halogenides.
