Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

I have carefully read the manuscript entropy-2267048. The Authors study the performance of an endo-reversible magnetic Otto cycle with a working substance composed of a single quantum dot described using the well-known Fock-Darwin model. They have shown that the net work, power, and efficiency depend strongly on the intensity of the parabolic trapping frequency. Also, whether the cycle behaves as either an engine or a refrigerator, depends on the intensity of the trapping. In addition, they have found a region in the parameter space in which the cycle exceeds the Curzon-Ahlbornefficiency for small values of the trapping frequency.  Furthermore, the Authors have shown that the geometric confinement frequency has a significant impact on the efficiency at maximum power  at low bath temperature ratios, and at high temperatures of the bath the model converges toward the  classical limit.

The manuscript has significant content and the presentation is clear.  It is of interest in the field of quantum thermodynamics, particularly quantum thermal machines.

From the previous considerations, I recommend the manuscript to be published as an article in Entropy.

Author Response

Response to Referee One

We thank the Referee for their thorough reading of our manuscript and positive evaluation. We are very appreciative of their recommendation for publication.

Reviewer 2 Report

The manuscript is clearly written and the topic is timely. The endoreversible analysis follows the standard steps. The model considered by the authors has enough appeal and hence consists of a relevant contribution for the literature in the topic.

I just have a minor concern about Fig.6: it shows only two types of behavior instead of four, as indicated. Why is this so? Apart from that, I recommend the manuscript for publication.

Author Response
